The original flame rod lasted 4 years. This one I installed in Sept. and I'm having problems now in February. Bad flame rod? Not sure. My combustion mixture checks out OK. The rod gets a very small amount of corrosion on it and then doesn't read correctly. I "cleaned" it using scotch bright pad (Don't use sand paper!) and it has limped along for a couple weeks while I order another rod. I hope this one lasts longer. I think I will order two. The cost of not having heat in February is more than the purchase price. Will review the next one when I have it installed.
